Sugar addiction is one of the most common addictions. It affects not only adults but also children.

Why people eat so many sweets? Why parents feed their children with cookies, candies, cakes, soft drinks, ice creams, chocolate bars, etc.? Often it is a reward for good behaviour or just everyday habit. If parent eats sweets, kid will eat sweets as well.

There are people that ignore this problem; there are also people that try to combat their weakness.

If you grew up with sugar, it will be difficult for you to reduce it from your diet. Simply, things will not taste that good. If you grew up with little sugar, you will not need it as much as the other people. Take advantage of it and do not fall into sweets habit…:)

So what do you choose? Sugar or no sugar???

Asian cucumber salad




I love spring rolls. This time I ate chicken spring rolls with cabbage and carrot. It’s really delicious with sweat-sour chili sauce and homemade “Asian” cucumber salad.

To make this salad you just need couple ingredients:

–          Cucumber

–          Alfalfa sprouts

–          Spring onion

–          Walnut oil (not really Asian style:))

–           Squeezed lemon juice

–          Salt with algae


You will make this salad in 2-3 minutes, it’s super easy!





Rucola salad with shrimps



Today on my dish was: rucola salad with shrimps



–          Rucola

–          Cocktail tomato’s

–          Onion

–          Chives

–          Cucumber

–          Olives (black and green)

–          Feta cheese

–          Olive oil

–          Raspberry vinegar

–          Pepper, salt

–          Shrimps fried in fresh garlic and butter with thyme



Stuffed backed duck served with pearl barley



Cold, winter days are an inspiration for eating something warm and satiating.

This dish is pretty time-consuming; that’s why I recommend to make it just on weekends 😉

Ingredients (for 4 people):

–          Pearl barley

–          Carrots for salad (you can choose any salad)

–          Parsley

–          2kg duck

–          1 apple

–          1 onion

–          4 small carrots

–          2-3 pieces of green celery


–          2tbsp. oil

–          1tsp. cayenne pepper

–          1tbsp. thyme

–          1tbsp. marjoram

–          1tsp. salt

–          1/2tsp. colour pepper


  1. Stuff duck with peeled, chopped apple and onion. Pour marinade over the meat.
  2. Bake with chopped carrots and green celery in baking foil for about 2hours in 180oC.
  3. Once backed, collect the sauce, add backed carrots and celery, and process in blender.
  4. Reduce the sauce.
  5. Serve with pearl barley and salad. Decorate with parsley.

12 grapes- New Year’s Eve 2012



How did you celebrate New Year’s Eve?

For the first time I celebrated it a bit differently:) I do not mean being on party but what happens at midnight:)

In Poland, people open Champaign and drink it, wishing each other Happy New Year. This year I followed the Spanish tradition of eating twelve grapes.

The idea originated probably in 1909, when grape producers promoted eating the grapes due to an overproduction…

We took twelve grapes and ate one with every chime of the clock. By the time the clock has finished we were supposed to have finished our grapes as well. If you eat all 12 grapes you will have 12 months good luck… I managed to eat all on time. Sounds promising, doesn’t it? 🙂 So let’s see what 2013 will bring…:):):)
